Eats and treats in Fulham

I recently spent the day in London catching up with one of my bestests, my Amelia, and as usual in between lots of talking, there was lots of eating! We started off with dim sum at the Royal China on the Fulham Road. I guess the best way to describe dim sum is like Chinese tapas; a selection of small dishes that are either steamed or deep fried, washed down with lots of jasmine tea.

One of my favourite dishes is pork cheong fun which is rice noodle rolls filled with pork in sweet soy sauce. Mmmmm!

After dim sum Amelia said she had a surprise for me…so we got on a bus up the Fulham Road and hopped off outside Cafe Labi, a cute little delicatessen/cafe. It’s a really cosy place with lots of comfy seating, and a little den and library for kids!

Amelia ordered a chai tea latte, and I went for a peppermint tea.

I got so excited about the little timer that came with the teapot you’d think I didn’t get out much, but I thought it was such a good idea! I’m too impatient when it comes to tea in pots and always end up with watery tea!

The most exciting part of the day was the little surprise pastries! They were AMAZING! Like profiteroles covered in chocolate and hazelnuts, filled with a hazelnut cream. Kind of like what you get in the middle of a kinder bueno!
