Ideal Home Show 2013

I’d always wanted to go to the Ideal Home Show, not really sure why, just always thought it might be a nice day out, where you could get lots of cool freebies. One of my close friends also shared this curiosity and last Saturday we went to find out what the big deal was.

The weather wasn’t too great, but there were stewards just outside the exit of Earl’s Court tube station handing out umbrellas for you to use to cross the road. Once inside we were pretty impressed with how much there was to see.

We didn’t have anything specific we wanted to see or buy, so we just spent the day wondering around the stands and displays. The exhibition was split into two floors and lots of different sections Food, Woman, Garden, Interiors etc. There was literally every type of stand you could imagine – electric cigarettes, eyebrow grooming kits, juicers, massage chairs, Jacuzzis, cute things for the home… here are some snaps of things that caught my eye…

French salami, Spanish salami, Italian salami!
Fred and Barney!!
Cutest egg cups ever!

In the Woman section they had a champagne bar and a beauty bar. At the beauty bar you can choose to have a complimentary treatment, so if you need your nails touching up go for a mini manicure. We finished mooching around the show and then went back at the end for a back and shoulder massage before heading home!

We stopped to rest our feet and had a little refreshment.

My other favourite area of the show was the Ideal Home Magazine area where they’d set up some living spaces that had been gorgeously decorated.

There were lots of stands with massages chairs, so we had to have a go. One stand had these strange contraptions on display which apparently are to massage your head and eyes…not sure they look very relaxing!

All in all we had a really nice day out. The exhibition is on at Earl’s Court until the 1st April, so if you fancy going you can still get tickets via their website – tickets here.
